About Me

My name is Suhair and I have over 25 years of experience studying and working in early childhood education. It goes without saying that I am trained in First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration. Additionally the facility itself meets and exceeds all Colorado state law fire and safety regulations. For nearly 10 years I worked in Montessori Schools which is why my play-based curriculum integrates a fair amount of Montessori pedagogy. I am thrilled to be the director of Umniya Home Care, which will be opening for the first time this September.

I have also raised two children who I am proud to say are both very successful and well-mannered young adults. In my free time I enjoy cooking elaborate meals and going on hikes with my husband.

The facility: Umniya Home Care is a fully licensed daycare located in Colorado Springs.  The bottom floor of our home is dedicated to the daycare. This includes a large play room, a napping and meal room, and a room for parent teacher conferences.  There is a large backyard with a play structure that includes a slide, a swing, and monkey bars. The ample space ensures that children are able to move freely as they explore, play, and learn. Interested parents are encouraged to visit the facility prior to enrollment.

The Care: At Umniya Home Care we believe in nourishing every child’s mind, body, and spirit. The approach is one of holistic care that focuses on mental stimulation, social engagement, physical activity, and nourishing the body with healthy snacks. Our safe learning environment provides personalized care in a mixed-age setting, allowing children to socialize in one-on-one and group settings.
